Buying an RTX Spark laptop: price, availability and ARM compatibility

RTX Spark laptops have entered a multi-brand rollout, but software support still depends on the version. Check Photoshop and Premiere beta requirements, exact models, local prices and your own workflow before buying.

Recognize another Windows on Arm option

Comparing Snapdragon laptops with traditional x86 PCs? Microsoft announced RTX Spark laptop preorders on October 7, 2026. NVIDIA confirms that RTX Spark combines an ARM processor with integrated RTX graphics. The familiar RTX name still calls for a Windows on Arm compatibility check.

Our advice: list your essential applications, games and peripherals first. First published October 8, this guide has since added HP’s U.S. plans and ASUS online availability and model prices. The October 20 update adds the multi-brand launch announcement and Adobe beta limitations. We have not tested these machines, and launch performance claims are not a purchase guarantee.

Which laptops, and when can you get one?

Microsoft’s October 7 preorder announcement listed Surface Laptop Ultra, ASUS ProArt P16/P14, Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition, HP OmniBook Ultra 16, Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 and MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+, with shipping scheduled to begin October 16. That is the early announcement’s list; use each manufacturer’s current full model and local configuration when buying.

ASUS’s October 8 announcement scheduled the first U.S. P16/P14 arrivals for October 16, with the GR1X mini PC following later this year. Its October 16 announcement now confirms U.S. online sales of P16 (H7607BA) and P14 (H7407BA) at the ASUS Store and Best Buy. Physical-store availability at Best Buy and Micro Center remains planned; Micro Center links in the announcement say “Coming soon.” Online sales do not establish immediate shipment of every configuration or availability elsewhere. Check the exact model, region and estimated delivery date.

Checked October 20: NVIDIA’s October 16 release announces RTX Spark laptop availability from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI, with regional differences in prices and configurations. It names Dell XPS 16 and Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n, differing from the early list. Do not assume different names or suffixes identify the same configuration. A platform launch does not establish stock for every model in every region; check the store’s delivery estimate.

Price first; then decide how much memory you need

When checked on October 8, Microsoft’s U.S. Surface Laptop Ultra page displayed $2,599.99; ASUS announced a U.S. starting MSRP of $2,599.99 for the ProArt laptop range. These are not Chinese-market prices or promises of matching configurations.

Checked October 17: the model-specific tables in ASUS’s October 16 announcement list U.S. starting MSRPs of $2,799.99 for P16 (H7607BA) and $2,599.99 for P14 (H7407BA). The range’s lowest price is not the P16 price. ASUS says retailers set actual retail prices. Compare memory, storage, display configuration and the checkout total; the starting price does not buy the highest specification.

Added October 12: HP’s October 7 U.S. announcement gives starting prices of $3,199.99 for OmniBook Ultra 16 and $2,999.99 for OmniBook X 14, both expected on HP.com on October 16. HP says pricing and availability may change. These are U.S. plans, not Chinese-market prices or a promise of stock today. Compare the exact configuration, local warranty and final checkout total.

RTX Spark’s maximum 128GB of unified memory is shared by its CPU and graphics, not an extra allocation of dedicated video memory. We recommend asking whether you regularly work on large creative projects or local AI. For browsing, documents and video calls, put budget, display and portability back into the comparison instead of paying for capacity you may not use.

Native support is progressing: check beta versus release

NVIDIA says many existing x86 and x64 applications can use Microsoft’s Prism emulation, with compatibility depending on the application and its dependencies. Our advice is to record software versions and ask their publishers about Windows on Arm and the target machine, including essential plugins, extensions and connected equipment.

NVIDIA’s launch announcement, checked October 20, specifies native RTX Spark support for Photoshop and Premiere through beta releases at launch, with Substance still to follow. Day-one support does not establish compatibility for every release version, plugin or feature you currently use.

Adobe’s general beta guidance allows beta and release builds side by side, warns of bugs or incomplete features, and recommends controlled testing. Subscribers can check the beta options in Creative Cloud desktop, then confirm the selected version’s device requirements. A general download route is not proof of compatibility with your PC. We suggest retaining your working setup and testing a project copy, rather than moving the only copy of an imminent delivery.

Within the return period, try a complete task: open your files, use required plugins, save, export and check the result. Reaching an installer or an app’s main screen does not establish that your everyday workflow works.

Check each game and peripheral by name

Microsoft’s Windows 11 Arm FAQ notes that unsupported anti-cheat drivers can prevent some games from working. Peripherals need built-in Windows support or vendor-provided Arm64 drivers. RTX graphics do not replace these checks.

We recommend checking your exact games, launchers, printer and scanner models. Verify online multiplayer if that is what you play, and scanning if that is what you need. Support for a similar product is not proof that your own equipment works fully.

Match battery evidence to your use

Microsoft describes separate local-video and web-browsing battery tests for Surface Laptop Ultra, noting that settings and use affect results. Those conditions cannot establish continuous gaming, editing or video-call endurance. We recommend comparisons with similar brightness, applications and workload before deciding whether a machine suits travel.

Everyday buyers can add RTX Spark to their shortlist while retaining Snapdragon and x86 models that meet their needs. Confirm essential software, peripherals, budget and local support first. Where a critical use remains unclear, wait for a clear answer or reliable testing of that particular task.
